Nero Magis: a new project the wine world enjoys

On Monday 6 November the Magis showroom in Torre di Mosto held a very tasteful event, the presentation of Nero Magis, the Perazza family’s latest initiative in collaboration with Walter Filiputti, estate manager, winemaker, writer and a university teacher of wine language and communication.

Nero Magis springs from the desire to bring to the wine world the same vision which underpins Magis’s design. To transcend, do more, create something unique and universal. An exciting challenge which became a reality by combining two Colli Orientali del Friuli wines that convey the dual soul of this celebrated Italian DOC zone. One is international, Merlot; the other is native, Pignolo, a rare vine that dates back to the Middle Ages and was in fact revived and replanted by Walter Filiputti.

Two are also the tones, one softer and the other more intense, which blend in Nero Magis after barrique-ageing for 24 months and lengthy ageing in the bottle. A harmony that fascinated the guests at the tasting of the 2014 vintage, the first step in Magis’s new progress in this sector in a mixture of tradition and innovation to contribute ever more to improving the quality of life.
