Magis & Herman Miller for an installation at the Design Pavilion – New York

Magis is once again at the Design Pavilion in New York, an installation held from 12 to 20 May, with a manifestation of bright colours, organic shapes and a playful mood, proposing products with an original design which are an unmistakable expression of the innovative use of different materials and production techniques.
Visitors were able to sit on Chair_One, a seat designed by Konstantin Grcic, which combines structure, logic and comfort, and also on Milà by Jaime Hayon, with simple, sinuous shapes. In Times Square there was a race to grab the Spuns designed by Thomas Heatherwick or take a selfie with Eero Aarnio’s Puppies.

This year Magis, in partnership with Herman Miller, exclusive distributor for the US and Canada, for NYCxDESIGN aimed to involve local design schools and design students in the development of the visual design of an installation created following the Magis Mural Competition, curated by Arts Thread International, at the Design Pavilion. The three winning designs were selected by a jury made up of Ilene Shaw (founding producer, Design Pavilion), Harry Allen (design creative director, Design Pavilion) and Barbara Minetto (communication & marketing manager, Magis).
